Cocktails

Headed by Benjamin Purslow, who received his training from Niall Downey now of Nopi, our bar team constantly strive for new methods of inebriation. Cocktails is a big part of what we do and there are cocktails for every occasion here at Zilouf's, which is why it is important for them to create the kind of concoctions to suit your mood as well as your food. Working closely with our kitchen - except when they are sharpening their knives with a maniacal gleam in their eyes - the bar boys and girls have created a number of unique ingredients. Purees, syrups & bitters are homemade, spirits are infused and recipes are all invented in-house. Our cocktail list like our a la carte is updated approximately every 2 months in order to take advantage of seasonal produce.

Wine

Cocktails are all well and good but a good steak, a nice chunk of lamb or heavenly fresh fish requires a little help from Bacchus...If you want some advice please ask. For those too shy to inquire - Cabernet Franc for lamb, the Carignan is bang on for the money, Dionysus swears by our Amarone, the house wines don't taste of vinegar if money's a bit tight, the Gruner Veltliner punches way above it's weight. For those in need of serious digestion and in no need to hurry the Coteaux du Lyon dessert wine has the perfect balance of acidity of sweetness.

The Seven

Much as we like to create the weird and the wonderful we also do our best to honour the classics. The Old Fashioned, the Martini, the Daiquiri, the White Lady, the Sidecar, the Manhattan & the Negroni (controversial) all deserve the best treatment we can give them. Try our versions of these and a few other classics…

Afters

We take digestion seriously, particularly those of us getting on in a bit in years. We're great on rums, whiskies & bourbons. We're getting better on cognacs. Our espresso martinis are insanely popular for a reason. Our coffees are worth the wait. Try our cigars. Complimentary cheese or petit fours will be available with certain digestifs.
